Поскольку я изучаю английский язык, я стараюсь читать англоязычных авторов в оригинале. Не всегда удается подобрать книгу, которую будет несложно читать, и при этом она будет интересной, но "Памяти Каталонии" в этом плане прекрасно мне подошла. Откровенно говоря, Оруэлл не входит в число моих любимых писателей, но эта книга - не художественный вымысел, а личные наблюдения автора, она показалась мне довольно живой и познавательной.

Homage to Catalonia
Будучи фанатом творчества Оруэлла, я решила прочитать у него что-то нехудожественное. В Памяти Каталонии собраны личные наблюдения и опыт Оруэлла, полученные за время испанской гражданской войны. Мне было интересно узнать, с какими трудностями он столкнулся (например, проблемы со снабжением), о том, что рисковал погибнуть от ранения, что вынужден был бежать из Испании.
