Отличная книга, во многом даже лучше первой книги серии «Рассказ служанки»
Плюсы
Потрясающая антиутопия, ещё сильнее раскрывающая историю тоталитарной теократии Гилеада, а также историю сопротивления этой тирании. Повествование ведётся от лица трёх героинь (одна из которых известна нам и по предыдущей книге «Рассказ служанки», и по одноимённому сериалу), которые оказываются в очень разных обстоятельствах, но чьи сюжетные линии, петляя, в итоге соединяются в великолепный финал. Героиням искренне сопереживаешь, а сюжетные повороты порой оказываются действительно неожиданными. Однозначно стоит прочтения не только поклонникам серии, но и тем кто любит остросюжетные и многогранные истории с глубоким психологизмом и социальной проблематикой.
Минусы
Минусы выделить трудно, в целом книга очень понравилась.
The Testaments
Заветы – это по-своему увлекательная книга, но она отличается от первой книги (Рассказа служанки) по своей весомости и силе повествования. Перед нами предстают героини готовые сокрушить устоявшуюся систему, поэтому в этом романе больше экшена. Хотя стиль Антвуд я всё ещё нахожу восхитительным, героини и некоторые реалии книги показались мне не очень реалистичными, и мне не понравилось, что повороты сюжета, которые претендуют на совпадение с реальными историческими событиями, на деле с ними не совпадают.
