As Wen catches grasshoppers in the front yard, a stranger unexpectedly appears in the driveway. Leonard is the largest man Wen has ever seen but he is young and friendly. Leonard and Wen talk and play until Leonard abruptly apologises and tells Wen, "None of what's going to happen is your fault". Three more strangers arrive at the cabin carrying unidentifiable, menacing objects. As Wen sprints inside to warn her parents, Leonard calls out, "Your dads won't want to let us in, Wen. But they have to. We need your help to save the world."

То что это всего лишь подписанный отзыв писателя о книге увидела только начав читать.
Автор Пол Трембле, доселе мне незнакомый, оказался и вправду мастером пугать, повергать в шок и наводить на такие глубокие размышления, что выбраться из них не удается весь день.
Рада, что невнимательно прочла имя автора -по аннотации не купила бы.
Книжка жуткая до тошноты, сюжет оригинальным не назовёшь, плюс показался излишне вычурным подбор главных героев, но потом на это за вихрем событий внимания не обращаешь.
Захватывающее чтение, аж сердце заходилось в некоторых эпизодах -так переживательно!
Книжка глубже, чем кажется. Это не страшилка, это больше психологический триллер.
