This book is dedicated to the Flemish theme in the works of the famous .Russian poet Eduard Bagritskii (1895—1934) who managed to voice .his opposition to Stalin’s regime in the poems allowed for publication .by the Soviet censors and overlooked by secret police. .All poetical and prosaical excerpts from Bagritskii and other authors, .quoted throughout the text, as well as Bagritskii’s entire poems on .pp. 49-64, were translated into English by Boris Meshcheryakov .specially for this book.
