Название обещает побег и это ожидание оправдывается. Чувствуешь себя фокусником который должен выбраться из закрытого ящика под водой. Сюжет увлекает как бурный поток который несёт тебя мимо камней и водопадов. Персонажи постоянно удивляют как кролики выскакивающие из цилиндров. Иногда кажется что всё закончится благополучно но автор снова ставит нового хищника на дорожку. Всё это делает чтение похоже на цирк с тремя аренами где нужно успеть везде. Когда закрываешь книгу ощущаешь что освободился из цепей вместе с героем.

Я уже читала несколько книг Мельтцера, поэтому не была удивлена тому, что и в этот раз у него получилась захватывающая и загадочная история в уникальном сеттинге и интересными персонажами. Главный герой пытается отыскать подругу своей дочери, подозревая, что она попала в беду, но чем больше он вовлекается в эту историю, тем больше опасности навлекает на самого себя.
