Мастерски сплетенный рассказ и невероятный невозможный сюжет, кажется вполне реальным. Немного не ожидала такого от Стивена Кинга. Удивительно человечная вещь, про прощение, мужество, добросердечие, поддержку - про то, как быть хорошим человеком. Как неудача может сломить, но и придать сил для дальнейшей борьбы. Как всем нам нужна поддержка, дружеское плечо, на которое можно опереться или просто тот, кто побудет молча рядом. В противовес показана и иная сторона медали - как по-звериному грубо может порой вести себя общество по отношению к более слабым, новым или просто "другим" людям.
